10 Months

Photobucket

Everett's 10 months old today! He's getting so big and active. Although I think I pretty much say that every month. It has been so much fun watching him grow and his personality come out. He is learning so many new things and picking up on what we do. Here are some things he's accomplished this month.

Blows kisses
Gives kisses and hugs when ya ask
Has become a speed crawler
Walks around every piece of furniture
Can stand for a decent amount of time by himself. Although this usually happens when he doesn't even realize it.
We've been able to get him to go to sleep on his own for the night. I will admit some nights are better than others, but he does pretty good.
He's become Mr. Talkative
When he picks up something he shouldn't and we say his name he has started handing us whatever was in his hand.
LOVES food. He's like a puppy dog whenever we're eating. Not only does he love food, but he's a pretty good eater too.
Has really started to use his teeth for chewing now. It's pretty cute to watch.
He got his first hair cut. I think I was more traumatized by the event then he was. Todd went to trim it just to make everything a little more even. It was when he cut the top and the hair fell that we realized how long it was.

We can't get enough of this kid. Like always we're still loving every minute. Even the hard times! Everett has brought so much to our little family. We wouldn't trade him for the world.

Father's Day

Photobucket

We had a pretty enjoyable Father's Day. Everett woke up early so we went in and wished Todd a Happy Father's Day in bed. Anytime Everett sees Todd he gets so excited. I love it. Nothing was different that morning. I took him in and once Todd turned to look at Everett he just started smiling and doing his little noises when he's excited. He loves his dad. After our morning greeting Todd was able to open our presents. He got some new shirts and shorts and How To Grill by Steve Raichlen. Todd's been getting into grilling and trying to learn all the techniques. This book was pretty cool. It has step by step pictures and recipes. I thought it was pretty cool at least!

The rest of the day was filled with hanging out, church, and grilling. Todd actually treated us to some delicious juicy stake. We were also able to talk to both our parents and wish both our own dad's a Happy Father's Day on the webcam.

Todd is such a great dad. I love watching him and Everett play. And my favorite is watching Everett's face when he sees his dad after getting home from work. He is seriously always excited and wanting to go straight for him. We love you Todd!

Just A Boy

This past week was quite a week with Everett. I think almost every day, last week, he feel and got some sort of bruise. Monday he fell and cut his gums causing his mouth to bleed. Wednesday he fell and got a nice little bruise on the corner of his eye. Friday was his biggest one and the one that made me most nervous! See all these falls have been because of climbing on my chair at work. He does it all the time. After a few falls you'd think he'd stop, but nope.

Well, on Friday he gets up and is just talking away. I'm trying to work so I wasn't really paying attention to what he was doing. After a little while I could feel that he let go, but it wasn't until I heard him start screaming that I realized something happened. I thought it was just one of his normal falls so I pick him up to hug him, but as I turn him around I see blood. When he fell he bit his lip. There were two little teeth marks on the corner of his mouth and two more on the inside. I get all nervous and run downstairs for the guys to help. They look at him and just start laughing. They asked what he did and then they inform that he's "just a boy" and he'll be alright. Honestly once Everett saw the guys he stopped crying and was just fine. That wasn't the first time they've told me he's "just a boy" either. It happens quite often.

Bit Lip

As Everett's gotten older he's wanting more and more to get into things. He loves climbing on things. Whether it's us sitting on the floor, a toy, chair, anything. He's new thing is climbing on us on the couch to get to the blinds. You think he wants held and to get some loves, but nope. Once we pick him up he starts using us as leverage to get up the couch! I honestly don't know what I'm going to do when he can walk.

Memorial Day

We had a great Memorial Day weekend. Didn't go quite as planned, but it was still fun nonetheless. Troy came up on Friday and hung out with us the whole weekend. He became Everett's buddy. Most of the time someone new comes around Everett just stares and acts a little leery. But not with Troy. Every time Everett woke up from a nap he'd come out and see Troy and just smile. It's almost like he thought he'd be gone, but was pretty excited when he saw he wasn't.

Due to the rainy weather we didn't get to do as much as we wanted, but we were still able to have a little BBQ Monday. Most of the day we spent hangin out. We cooked on the grill, played some XBox (mainly Todd and Troy), baked, and just had a good time. Todd made ribs once and has wanted to try them again ever since. The first time we weren't quite sure how to grill them, but this time Todd did a little research. They turned out pretty good too! We had ribs, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes, baked beans (my very first homemade ones that I think turned out pretty good too!), rolls, and some fruit. Our dinner was quite delicious. We followed everything up with a nice Peaches and Cream Pie.

Despite some change of plans I think we all really enjoyed ourselves. It was nice having Troy up and I'm pretty sure Todd really enjoyed it. They got in some good laughs, video game playing, and just time to hang out!
