Idaho Falls Zoo

Todd's birthday was on Saturday and he decided he wanted to take us to the zoo to celebrate.  Everett was of course ecstatic.  We told him about a little too early, so of course he kept telling us he wanted to go to the zoo and he was ready.  On our way down he kept talking about seeing animals.  We had a pretty good time.  The weather stayed nice for us.  We thought it might get a little too hot, but luckily it was a little overcast the majority of the time.
Jacquelyn could contain her excitement, Everett on the other hand was way too excited!

Skype

We are so grateful for Skype.  It is technology at it's greatest!  Sunday's are our typical skype nights.  We generally call the grandparents and chat with them.  The kids love it.   They get to see their Grandparents and the Grandparents get to see them.  I'm so grateful for that since we don't get to go visit very often.  At least there's more then a telephone call. When you ask Everett if he wants to talk to Grammy he'll go to the computer.  He knows how to get her!   Here they are from Sunday night talking with my mom.

Pictures of Jacquelyn

I have been working on Everett's photo books and came to the realization that our poor Jacquelyn will not have nearly as many pictures as Everett.  His first year book had more than 150 pages.  Jacquelyn's will probably be half that maybe!  I try and try to take pictures, but I am not very good it.  So while I decided, once again, I needed to start taking more and more pictures.  I especially need to get more of Jacquelyn.  So I keep the camera out and ready to go.  I'd find times she was doing something and starting click away, but sadly most pictures I got she was moving so half the time she looked like a blurry blob.

Or she would start throwing a fit.

But I would occasionally get some pretty cute pictures of her

This girl LOVES her popcorn.  So I guess if I keep trying I will get a few good photos of her:)  At least now she'll know how much of a busy body she was.  She is constantly on the go.  And she'll also know that when she didn't get her way there was usually a pretty good tantrum involved.   So the pictures I don't think are all that fabulous will be worth it in the end!

Phone Picture Updates

I just uploaded the pictures from my phone and wanted to document a lot of them.  I try to carry my camera around, but sometimes it's just easier with the phone.  They're not the best pictures, but at least I have some pictures to remember things we did.  There are a bunch of new posts so keep scrolling if you want to see them.

Everett and the I-Phone

Whenever Everett gets a hold of my phone he usually always ends up taking pictures.  I've gone through and have found 20-30 pictures of just parts of his face, or his arms, or legs.  It is pretty comical.  Lately he's been trying to take pictures of other things or me and todd, or Jacquelyn.  I've finally uploaded my pictures off my phone and was going through some of his work

There are a bunch of little short videos where he didn't realize it wasn't on the camera sitting.  I love how he'll just start to smile when he realizes what he's doing.

A Day at the Lake

We bought a pass to Rigby Lake and it feels like we have been going non stop since!  Everett loves it that and almost every morning asks to go to the "beach".  I was telling my mom we were on our way to the lake and Everett yelled "no mom, the beach!!"  Oh so sorry.  So in our home it is the beach.

When we first went he barely went in the water, but not he goes and walks across to the other side.  We usually sit in an area that is pretty shallow.  The deepest part comes just below his chin.  He plays around in the water, plays in the sand with his bucket and shovel.  And as of late his new thing is joining other people. Older people.  Mainly teenagers.  Last Wednesday when we got there and joined a couple kids and started building a castle with them.  It was pretty cute.  The old boy would tell Everett what to do and what to get.  Then as we were leaving he found some teenage girls and started hanging out with them.  They were bearing one of them in the sand so of course Everett had to join!

He was having way too much fun with a bunch of older girls!  It was pretty cute watching him though!

Sitting on the Counter

When I bake, or work on dinner, or anything really in the kitchen, Everett usually sits on the counter and hangs out with me.  Sometimes helping, other times just hanging out.  Jacquelyn usually does her own little thing.  Well I had made some rice krispies and we were going to cut into them tonight. I don't know why but I just put Everett up there and then thought well I might as well just have her sit there for a second.  The minute I put Jacquelyn on the counter she squealed.  IT was so cute!  I guess she has wanted to be up there for a while and her time finally came.  She stood up with excitement so of course Everett had to stand up.  They had a pretty good time eating rice krispies on the counter.

Ready for Church

I took this picture as we were trying to get ready to go to church.  My mom just sent a bunch of ties that were my nephews' and Everett was so excited.  He loves wearing ties.  These came just in time cause I knew he needed some new ones and I was either going to attempt to make some, or just go and buy a few.  Most likely the latter.  So I was happy to not have to do either!
I wish I took pictures with my actual camera and not my phone.  He looked pretty cute.  The classes were worn to church.  He thought he had to be Clark Kent.  He watched Superman that morning and immediately had to find those glasses.  We really need to invest in a bigger shirt and belt so his shirt will actually stay somewhat tucked in.

Pigtails

I've been putting little pigtails on the top of Jacquelyn's head for awhile, but the today I was finally able to get them lower on her head! She looked so cute.  Her hair still needs to be just a little longer.  We had to spray it pretty good so it didn't mess up too easily.  She wouldn't stand still long enough for me to get any cute pictures.
These were taken with my phone so they're not the greatest.

Jacquelyn

Today we were out in the pool and I got this picture of Jacquelyn.  I fell in love.  I don't know why.  I just think it is super cute of her.  She was having so much fun playing around.  She's finally starting to warm up to water and really enjoy our little pool. I really wish I carried my real camera a lot more often to catch pictures like this.  I think she is just beautiful.  Love this girl to pieces.

Tired?

This morning I had to run into work for a little bit, so the kids tagged along.  I was originally suppose to go in most of the day,but the daycare was closed, so it was an excuse to take a little more time off!  We got a few things done and then headed up to the library in Rexburg.  I could tell Jacquelyn was tired, but I knew one she wouldn't fall asleep there, and two I honestly wanted her to wait till we got home.  So after reading and picking out some books we headed home.  Jacquelyn was screaming.  She threw her doll and wouldn't take a thing.  As a last resort I took a sweatshirt and threw it ontop of her.  I knew she would just scream even louder and throw it off, but she didn't.  Amazingly enough within a matter of seconds she was out! Everett wasn't far behind either.

A Day to Play

After having Jacquelyn I went part time at work.  I usually went in for 2 1/2 days, which left me with 2 full days to spend with the kids.  About two months ago they changed my schedule and I now work everyday till 1:30.  It is tough.  Essentially it's the same amount of hours, but doing everyday is hard.  Now when I am at home I feel like we're not getting to play around as much, or do fun activities.  I try, but lately it feels like everything just goes out the window.

Due to the holiday I only had to work Monday and Tuesday this week.  Bliss.  Seriously it has been so nice.  So we decided to take full advantage of this rare opportunity yesterday.  It was cloudy and a little chilly, but we packed a lunch and headed to the park.  Both kids were in heaven.  Sadly the wind started to pick up so we had to head home and a little bit later it finally started to rain.  We're just glad we got to enjoy playing at the park as much as we were.

Jacquelyn loved being able to just fun around and play.  She has become quite the walker and is thoroughly enjoying.  Everett of course climbed up and down the rocks and ran everywhere.  You would have thought they had been cooped up forever!
