Todd is the president of the Pre-Vet Society at BYU-I. Which means every other week he's attending a meeting/activity relating to veterinary work. Most of the time he goes while I stay with the kids. When he first started school I would go to a meeting here and there, but it's a little harder with kids.
On this particular night I had had a rough day with Everett. I needed out of the house and I think he did too. I just didn't want to have to handle by myself that night. So we ended up going with Todd! I knew they were going to go to the livestock center so I thought it'd be great. Everett loves animals. For their activity they were preg-checking some of the cows there. I've heard all of Todd's stories about inseminating a cow and such. So it was kinda fun seeing him in action. All night he kept telling me I was going to do it, but I just kinda blew it off. I figured I'd get out of it.
Yeah, I didn't get out of it. He kept convincing me that it was a once in a life time thing. So I gave in. It was quite interesting and I'm pretty sure it was once in a life time. I don't think I want to do it again! But now when someone asks if I've ever done I can say yes!

Her First Bite
Well, Jacquelyn has tried her first bite of cereal. We started with
Everett at about the same age. She's been trying to grab at our food so
I thought we'd try it. I was honestly kinda excited. I don't know
why, but I was! We tried it for the first time last night. Wasn't a great success. This morning:
She looks real excited too!
It immediately came out once I took the spoon out. Yeah not her favorite...
but she does like chewing on the spoon!
And she's done
We'll keep trying. Hopefully she'll get the hang of it soon!

Makeup Artist
This afternoon I was in our bedroom feeding Jacquelyn while Everett was playing in the other room. I heard him go into the bathroom, but didn't think anything of it. He usually goes for the same thing so I just figured everything would be ok. I heard some shuffling around and then I could tell he was leaving the room. When I turned to look he was coming around into our room and that's when I saw what he got into.
Yup. I left my makeup bag on the counter, not up high like I usually do. He figured he'd do the same thing I do I guess! Well attempt to do the same thing. I'm no makeup artist, but I think I'm able to get the mascara in the right place!

4 Months
Jacquelyn is 4 months old! I am loving this stage. She just has such a sweet spirit and disposition. She is currently 12 pounds and 23 inches long. I thought she was a little bit bigger baby than her brother, but looking back at his charts they are pretty much the same! Here are some things about her at 4 months:
She rolled for the first time (from back to stomach) on Monday September 12. She was just over 3 months.
She is a gabber. Her dad keeps telling her that she's going to be like her mom :)
She loves laying on her stomach. We've been trying to encourage her to roll back to her back, but she has no desire to try.
She is currently wearing a size 3 months and 3-6 months.
She grows out of her clothes on length. Which means she'll probably be like her mom. No waist, but longer legs.
She still LOVES her brother. We get the biggest kick watching them together. We've had dinner where she'll just start laughing at Everett. He'll laugh and it'll go back and forth. Love it!
She is just continuing to grow and grow like usual. We're just trying to savor every moment cause they go by so fast!

First Pet
We got our very first pet! A cute little kitty. Some lady brought in a liter of kittens to the clinic Todd is interning at and was trying to give them away. If nobody took them then they were just giving them to the humane society. When Todd first called about it I thought he was joking, but he was actually somewhat serious. So after running some errands we headed over to check them out. I love cats and would take them in a heartbeat, but the thought of a cat in an apartment just wasn't a good one. We talked about it, sat around for awhile, and then Todd just finally put it in a box and we took it home.
Everett LOVED him. He loved him a little too much. I felt so bad for the poor thing. Sadly after 5 days we gave him away. He was just causing too much stress in our home. We found a family that had a lot of land and other cats so he'd have a friend. When they came to pick him up Everett would just say "cat go?" It was kinda cute and sad at the same time. We just decided we made the wrong decision. We want pets eventually, but right now just isn't the right time. Hopefully someday though!
