I've been wanting to make one of those onesies where you sew on a tie, but only had girly looking scraps of fabric. So after finishing the blanket I made for the boy I finally had some boyish fabric. It came out all right. I think the tie might be a little too big, but oh well. I like it! I kinda want to do another one so I can make it look a little better.

Blanket For Everett
I finally got around to making a blanket for the baby. I think it turned out really cute. I was going to try and do like a real nice quilt, but decided to just stick with my rag quilt I usually do. I always have a hard time looking at fabric and trying to picture what it'll look like, but I'm really happy with these colors and how it all came together. Especially his name on the side. The past couple quilts I've made I've tried doing something different. I've been reading a lot about the heat n' bond stuff, so I wanted to try it and see what it'd look like. So I cut the letters out and ironed them onto the blocks. Then instead of doing the normal X on each one I just sewed the letter so on the back it shows through (hope that makes sense, it does in my head, but ya never know). Anyway, the best part is that Todd helped too!
I finished sewing it Saturday and was just too tired to even really think about the cutting process to make the frey look. Todd started cutting it and I ended up going to bed thinking he'd be behind shortly. To my surprise he stayed up and finished cutting the whole thing! And even started washing it. It takes forever to cut the whole thing. I usually do a little here and there depending on when I need to get it done. So it was a pretty nice surprise to just wake up and it's done!

Quotables
Well, I was asked today why I haven't been doing Todd's Quotables. In all honesty, I haven't been the best at writing everything down, and I forget. I have some that are way old so I thought I'd post those, and a few new ones. The old ones I can't even remember what our conversations were about anymore. Anyway here you all go:
"If our kids aren't funny, I'll be highly disappointed." (3.11.09)
"Whoever invented the waistband was a genius." (3.11.09)
"Shirley, I can't help it if I'm charismatic." (3.15.09)

Today we were in our marriage class, during Sunday School, and they were talking about positive communication. Jessica started talking about how when Alma does things she'll always thank him, or what not, and then he's more likely to help out again. So Todd leans over and says:
"That's why I always tell you 'Thanks for dinner sweety'." (6.7.09)
Now I know his real reason for his compliments!
For dinner tonight I made a little fruit salad. We always have bananas and such, but the strawberries were on sale and I'd been wanting some watermelon. I don't think it was that fabulous of a salad, but as Todd's dishing some he says"
"Strawberries, bananas, and watermelon?! We must royalty!" (6.7.09)
Yeah real royalty! Instead of canned fruit we have fresh! That's the best part of summer:) And I even got a "Thanks for dinner" with a big smile!

Roastin' Smores
This past week the weather had been so nice. So my neighbor, Jessica, and I decided we should get everyone together and roast smores Saturday night. Come Saturday it decides to rain pretty much all day. Jessica kept saying we'd do it rain or shine! Around 7 last night it just started pouring, but luckily it died down enough so that we were able to stick to our plan. We had to use our grill on our balcony so we wouldn't get wet. It was kinda funny seeing all of us huddle around. I think we had like 6 or 7 couples come.
It turned out to be a pretty successful night, rain and all. We even got to roast starbursts for the first time. They turned out to be pretty good!

28 Weeks
I'm in the third trimester! I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going. I honestly thought it was going to take forever. Maybe the next three months will slow down a little.
This little boy sure isn't slowing down though. He is constantly moving more and more. Especially at nights. I remember before the only time I could really feel him was when I was sitting, or laying, down and relaxing for a while. Now it's all the time. Sitting, standing, walking, sleeping. Whenever, wherever! The other day I was leaning over the counter and I guess I took up too much of his room and he kicked so hard! I don't know if it hurt cause he kicked hard, or because my stomach was against the counter, but it hurt. He's a little demanding already.
I've noticed little things start to happen that I was told would towards the end. I'm getting more and more off balance. Especially when going from sitting to standing. My feet are beginning to swell when it gets hot. Acid reflux is starting. I thought I missed that one, but as of this week I have not. It's getting a little more uncomfortable to sleep at night. I really miss just being able to roll over, or even sleep on my stomach. I can't even remember what it was like to have a somewhat normal stomach. My migraines are coming more frequently, and unfortunately lasting longer.
Despite all of that, I have really loved being pregnant. This has been one of the most neatest experiences. Every time I feel Everett kick it amazes me. Heavenly Father has truly given women an amazing blessing. Part of me wishes Todd could experience it just so he would know what it was like. I love when he's able to feel the baby move though. I think he helps him know that this is really happening!
We went to the doctor Tuesday. Everything's looking. I had to do the diabetes testing and everything came out good. I'm measuring just right. Our doctor started talking to us about preparing for labor, and it think that's one of the first times I realized we're really getting close! We started washing his clothes, and organizing things. We're just around the corner now!

One Door Closes....Another One Opens
Well, it seems as though I'm finally getting over being sick. I still have a little cough, but nothing like before. I feel TONS better today than I did a week ago! But now that I'm better Todd is now under the weather.
Fortunately he doesn't have what I had, but rather he has pink eye. I don't know which is worse. It was going around his parents house while we were there, so we washed our hands like crazy. Thought we were ok since we've been home a week, but we're not. It started on Todd yesterday in his right eye. This morning it has moved into the other eye. I just feel bad for him. Pink Eye is the worse. We've gone and bought Lysol and have been spraying it. Hopefully that and our frequent hand washing will be enough so I don't get it now.
Oh the joys of being sick!
