Since Easter is coming I have been making a list of projects to do with Everett. I've been trying to be a little more crafty, but have sadly been failing. On Tuesday Everett and I made some Easter Bunny Ears for him. He was so excited. I was surprised he actually wore them! And even more surprised that they are still intact. Most projects I've done with him by the end of the night are demolished. So one project marked off. We'll see if we get through the rest of them!

Sleep
I could watch my kids sleep all day. They're just so peaceful. When I go to check on them there's nothing else going on and it just reminds me how grateful I am for them and it makes a stressful day a little more worth it. For awhile sleep was a little hard to come by in our home. Jacquelyn was waking up every few hours and then if she wasn't up Everett would be up crying. Our nap time was almost nonexistent. Jacquelyn would go for about 45 minutes or so and Everett, well he was stubborn and would not nap!
After much despair I broke down and told Todd I could not do it anymore. I was constantly tired and frustrated about the littlest things. It was not good on Todd either. We were both just worn out. After talking with a friend, and getting some courage, we decided to let Jacquelyn "cry it out". Can I just tell you it was the hardest 4-5 days of my life, but it has been the best decision ever. We still have nights were she will wake up, but she usually gets herself back to sleep. Her naps are sooo much better. It's bliss. We are getting a decent amount of sleep at night!
Before whenever you would check on her she would wake up the minute she heard you fiddle with the door. Now I can actually go in there put the blanket on back on her and actually check on her without worrying that I'd wake her. I caught a few pictures of her sleeping since our fun cry it out weekend.
I went to check on her sleeping while taking a nap. She just looked so cute. The day before she had her arms up behind her head, but I took too long getting the camera.
These were just a few days after our weekend. I went to check on her one morning surprised she was still sleeping. She had her little bum up in the air.
Not only has Jacquelyn been sleeping better, but so has Everett. He actually goes in and takes naps. On Tuesday we had been out and done a few things that morning so after lunch it was straight to bed. He happily walked right in and asked that I closed the door. I usually can hear him play for 20-30 minutes before he actually falls asleep. This time he wasn't up as long. When I went to check on him I found him with his book on his head. It must have been a good read!
It's amazing what sleep will do to a family. We have had less contention, stress, and frustration in our home. THe kids are happier and more cheerful! Sleep is bliss :)

What Goes Up, Must Come Down
Jacquelyn likes to climb over EVERYTHING. Seriously. If it's at her level you better believe she will go for it. The other day I had her carseat sitting out so of course what does she do?! Climb on it. What she doesn't realize is that it moves when she climbs on it. She was having so much fun till she climbed up it and then on the down sound she fell out of it. It was quite humorous, but a little traumatic for her. But apparently not traumatic enough. Cause she did it again. So what did her sweet mother do? Document it.
Look how excited and proud she is! She was squealing.
And then the down side. The sad part was this fall was worse cause she nose planted right into the floor vent. Poor girl. Her excitement quickly faded!

FInally Some Warmth
I shouldn't be saying this, but we are finally getting some warm
weather!! This winter has been pretty mild, but at the same time we have
been longing to be able to play outside and enjoy some sunny weather.
The past couple days has been in the 60s and we have been soaking it
up. Thursday we had some friends over so we broke out the sandbox. When they left Everett had to go back out and keep playing. All the while wearing his snow boots. That kid will probably keep wearing them during the summer too!
The people that own the land we live on grow alfalfa. Thursday they started to fertilize the land. They set these two tractors in the yard a few days before and everyday Everett would have to go look at them. When he actually saw them using them he was quite intrigued.
Today the weather was even nicer. We were going to go run errands early this morning, but I decided to put Jacquelyn down for a nap instead. So to pass the time we headed outside. We first started by wanting to clean out the water side of Everett's sandbox. He tends to get a lot of sand on that side. So we went and tried out the hose for the first time.
After playing with the hose and cleaning the sand off the deck Everett went to town. He seriously LOVES his sandbox. He went and got his boats to play in it. Todd was showing him how to turn the little white thing to make the water move which then makes the boats go around. Everett was so excited. He played with that thing forever!
Todd was suppose to be going and studying, but got a little distracted. He ended up getting some grass seeds and spreading them in some of the bare areas.
So of course Everett had to go join his dad.
We have a bunch of these bugs called Boxelder Wood bugs. I think that's their name. Anyway they were all over the place today. They supposedly come out in full force during warm weather. Everett's not a fan of them. Well, he's not a fan of any bug really. Todd was pointing them out to him and he almost broke down. He had to get some lovin from dad and mom.
Don't mind his messy, snotty face, but this is his bug look. Seriously he hates bugs :)
After telling him he'd be alright it was back to spreading seeds.
I went to check on Jacquelyn and found her just chillin out. She was quite content.
Once we got her already she came out and enjoyed the weather with the rest of us. She loves standing up with Everett at the sandbox. Her favorite part...Eating the sand. Gotta watch her closely!
I tried putting her on the grass the other day and she didn't want anything to do with it. So I tried it again today and she had no problems! She sat right down and started crawling around.
One last time playing with the hose before going in. Todd was chasing Everett with it.
Everett got ahold of it and played around. He found that if he sticks his hand in the water it sprays him.
Hopefully this is just the beginning of the nice weather. We had such a good day. Got to wear sandals and no jackets or coats!
