Well, tonight was the first time I've been out on a bike ride with Todd. Our neighbors were kind enough to me let me borrow one of theirs so I could join him. I was thinking it was going to be a nice leisurely ride, ummm yeah no. I haven't been on a bike in forever. After the first five minutes my legs were killing me.
Aside from that, it was pretty nice. We went down to Porter Park and rode around and then made our way back. The best part of the bike ride....the reactions. I think every car that drove past heads were turning. While at the park you could hear some kid going "Woah cool bike! Look at that bike!" So what did Todd do as we rode past? Rung his bell. We got some hollers after that. He then lets me know that that happens every time he goes for a ride. On the way home some girl yelled from a car what a cool bike it was. Todd turns around and informs me "See that girl in the van thinks I have a cool bike." As we were getting closer to the apartment Todd lets me know that a car is coming behind us. What do I get from him? "I bet you didn't know it was coming, you don't have mirriors." During the ride I was also informed plenty of times that my back was being hunched over while he was nice and comformtable sitting up straight.
I guess after tonight I have found out that Todd does indeed have a "cool" bike. At least from all the reactions it seems as though others think he does!

Deep Fryin
When registering, for a deep fryer, last year I never thought we'd actually get one, and I never thought we'd actually use one. I just thought it was fun registering for it. But we got one and now we have used one! I got it out this weekend and made us some french fries Saturday and they were soooooo good! I've usually been baking our fries, but thought it would be fun to try frying them. Todd loved them. He even told me they were better than my baked ones. Honestly, they were pretty good.
So since I had the deep fryer out, Sunday Todd and I made some doughnuts. I usually get a little controlling in the kitchen, especially when baking, but Todd just kinda took over. I was getting a little picky, but umm... he pushed me out. He rolled em and cut em out, fried them, and I dipped them in the glaze. They were really good too. It was quite fun. I don't think we've both really been in the kitchen like that before. I enjoyed it and I think Todd did too!

No worries though, we had self control when eating. Luckily we went to our friends and took them over that night so we didn't over indulge!
Maybe next weekend we'll come up with some more stuff to fry. Mmmm....

Contacts
For the past 3 months or so I have been living in my glasses. It all started with the allergies. My eyes burned so bad I could never wear them. Then at the beginning of July I went to put in my last pair and lo and behold one of them didn't even have a prescription. I thought I was gong blind until I put it both eyes and realized it was the contact and not me. So I decided that I would try just going from contacts to my glasses all the time. Sadly half way through July I decided I couldn't do it. I actually enjoyed not wearing contacts, but at the same time I missed them.I ordered them three weeks ago and they finally arrived yesterday! I was so excited. One Hour Optical kept getting the wrong address. They sent them to the right address, but without an apartment number. When they got an apartment number they used the one from our old apartment in Thornton. I finally called this week and found out what the problem was and the next day they arrived! After getting them I put a pair in and as I walked out of the bathroom Todd goes "You look weird without your glasses." Yeah I know he's romantic.
It's just nice not having something on my face constantly. Todd's not randomly poking his finger on my glasses so I get a smudge anymore. I don't know if anyone else feels the same, but I just feel like I can see better in my contacts. Things are a little clearer. Ahhh...it's so nice to have them back again.

Update For Mom
This morning I was informed by my mom that I have not updated recently and she has no nightly reading material! So mom, this update is for you. Love you.
This past week has been busy/tiring. Last week we were busy getting our car fixed. We took it to some guy down in Idaho Falls who has helped us lower our cost a little. Everyone has said our air compressor is going out and needs to be changed. My friend and work recommended me to this guy and he found that it's just the bearing. Granted, the compressor will eventually go out, changing just the bearing will give us another 2 years or so. When Todd and I went to pick up the car Ray showed us the parts that were making the loud noises. The bearing was completely shot. I was thinking about it today and it started making the clunking noise two years ago just before I moved to Colorado. Back then it wasn't as bad, or as loud. So I guess that could explain why it was gone. It had been two years in the making! The new bearing was out a week so we've been driving around with no AC, which is fine, but the car is so quiet. When we got in it the first time we couldn't believe it. Now, as explained by my Uncle Jim, we are driving with a very nice 2-60 AC. 2 windows down at 60 mph. Hopefully by the end of this week, or beginning of next, we'll have everything back to normal with the car.
Saturday Todd and I had the opportunity to go boating. It was Todd's first time on a boat, or even in a lake! I don't think I've gone since I was in high school, so we were excited. Todd's friend, Dave and his wife Shelly, were up visiting family and invited us to join them. We had so much fun. Todd tried wake boarding. He did pretty goo
d for his first time. I tried skiing for the first time. Wasn't as successful as Todd, but ok. Got up once and was so excited and then just flopped. We hung out on the dock a little and then went tubing. I love tubing. I have so much fun trying to hold on while the driver is trying to flip you. Todd didn't enjoy it as much. The weather was great. It kinda of made me want to get a boat some time down the road, but I think I have a lot of convincing to do to get Todd to agree!
This video is of Todd on the tube. It's not the greatest, it got a little bumpy and I couldn't keep control of the camera.

Monday we went and visited my Uncle Claude and Aunt Sherlyne. Claude is one of my Grandpa Tuckett's brothers. It's been fun getting to visit with them and learn more about my dad's side of the family. They always make us some kind of a treat. Thursday Todd got a root beer float and Monday we got cantelope and ice cream!
The rest of our evenings have been spent in front of the TV watching the Olympics. We have probably stayed up way too late some nights watching them, but they've been pretty exciting. Probably like most other people, I am completely amazed with Michael Phelps. I remember watching him in Athens, but that was nothing compared to what he has now accomplished. Todd and I watched all his races and on most of the races we were on the edge of the couch with suspense. Some he had in the bag, but other's were super close. Honestly, I didn't think we would be watching the Olympics the way we have. It's been nice though.
There's a little update. After writing this it doesn't seem as though we were that busy, but seriously we were. At least it felt like it!

Another Tag
Alright, so I got hooked on another tag. This one is a little about the both of us, but it's suppose to be a "husband tag".!
What is his name? Todd David Wilson
How long have we been married? 1 year
How long did we date? Well, it depends when you start counting. We started "hanging out" in October of 2006. He asked me out on our first official date that same month. I later decided to be friends and then I guess we became "official" November 17. So from November we were together for 8 months before we got married.
How old is he? 25
Who eats more? Depends what we're having. Most of the time he does though.
Who said "I love you" first? Depends on who you ask. I say he said it first cause I swore I wouldn't say it until he did, but he claims I said it first, so who knows.
Who is taller? He is
Who sings better? Ha... I don't know Todd. I was singing with headphones on at a job once and when I took them off some lady said "it's ok I can't sing either". So I'll go with Todd.
Who is smarter? Probably Todd. Although it depends on what subject I would have to say.
Whose temper is worse? that would most likely be mine
Who pays the bills? We both do. After doing our budget we usually just go and pay them. He has some on is computer he pays, and I have some on mine that I pay.
Who does the laundry? Todd does it most of the time. But sometimes I do it. Or he starts I finish. I start he finishes.
Who cooks dinner? Yeah that's me. We have a make your own dinner night and I still usually end up making dinner.
Who drives when together? Todd
Who is more stubborn? I would have to say that it's equal. Todd's probably better than I am though.
Who is the first to admit when wrong? Todd. I'm too stubborn. See he's better.
Who wears the pants in the family? Well, I'm not a controlling wife if that's what that's suppose to mean. We talk about things and then usually make a decision together. Or he'll tell me it's my decision which I hate.
Who mows the lawn? Apartment people, no lawn.
Who kissed who first? Once again, depends on who you ask.
Who asked out who first? Todd asked me out to dinner.
Who proposed? Todd
What do I love about him? There's too many things. I love Todd's smile and laugh. If you can get him to really laugh I love it. He doesn't care what other's think. He allows me to be me. That's one of the first things I feel in love with. I have never had to act different or be someone else. He loves me for who I am, and I'm truly grateful for that.

Lynn Scott Tuckett
On August 5 my Uncle Lynn passed away. He was my dad's younger brother. He was such a great guy. He is someone who will be greatly missed. Tonight is his viewing and since I don't get to be there I just wanted to remember him. My mom says that is the best way to show our love and appreciation for him.Him and my cousin moved from Denver to Coppell, just a block away from my family, when I was 12 or so. One thing I will always remember him for is his laugh. He had such a contagious laugh. I remember one Christmas we all went to go see the movie Patch Adams, he was laughing so hard at points that he got the whole theater to laugh. Christmas' at his house were always quite lively! He was just a fun loving guy.
He loved his wiener dog Snotzel. I remember how we use to go to wiener dog races where Snotz would participate. It was quite humorous. Where ever Uncle Lynn was Snotz was right there beside him.
He loved to help. When I was moving up to Denver he would tell me places I should check out to live. One summer he was up there on a business trip and went around to a bunch of different apartments trying to find me a place in a safe area. After moving there he would help out and bring extra stuff up from home when he would come up on business. One of the last times I remember being with him is the first time Todd got to met him. He had just brought a bunch of stuff up for me and we went to go visit him in his hotel. We had so much fun just visiting and talking with him. After Todd & I got married last year, he continued bringing up things for us. But those visits, even though they were short, were fun just being able to see him and talk with him
My list of memories with Uncle Lynn could go on and on, but I'm so grateful I have them. I'm grateful for the time that I had to know him and grow up with him so close. His laughter and personality will surely be missed.

Idaho Falls Duck Races
Yesterday afternoon, Todd & I went down to Idaho Falls to participate in their Duck Races. What you do is you go and "adopt" a duck for $5 and the money goes to keeping up the Green Belt. The Green Belt is this long strip that follows along the river. So anyway, we went and adopted our duck. Each duck is numbered and so all you get is a pamplet with your duck's number. Around 4 they dumped all the ducks in the river and then you sit and watch as they float on down. The first duck to go over the falls is the winner.
They had many different prizes for I think about 10 winners. The first prize got a brand new 2008 Pontiac Grand Prix. Then there were prizes for $1000 to Sams, $12oo to Fars Jewelery. The list goes on. So we were set for winning! But unfortunately so were like a thousand other people. We have yet to receive our call! Even though we didn't win anything it was fun just to go down and see what they do. Honestly when I first heard about it I seriously thought they were racing real ducks. It would have been kinda cool. But they were just little rubber ducks.

Before the race we went and walked around all the venders. The had some neat things. I fell in love with a purse, but it was $54 and I just can't justify it. Sad, I know. We decided to splurge and got some snow cones. It was a fun afternoon. But like Todd said, once again it's an event that would be a little bit more fun if you were a kid, or had kids.

2008 Olympics

It's Olympic time again! WooHoo! Honestly I get a little excited for it. There's just something about it. Todd and I watched the opening ceremonies last night. They were pretty sweet. Started watching some volleyball today, but then switched the channel. We'll see how much of it we actually watch.
When I watch the Olympics, it makes me wish that I stuck with things. Probably much to my parents disappointments, I pretty much quit every sport they put me in. I played soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, and even gymnastics. Heck, if I stuck with even one I'd probably be somewhat good at it. But I was a slacker and hated practices.
Just seeing some of the things they do makes me want to get up and do it. I remember one summer, growing up, my friend and I tried to do synchronized swimming in my back yard. We thought it was so cool after watching it. If I was home right now I'd probably go do some laps in the pool. There's some lady who's 41 that's on the US Swim Team. So maybe if I start something now, I can do the same right?! I mean you can never give up no mater what age you are. She's probably better than some of the girls that are half her age.
Sadly once the Olympics are over I'll probably just go back to wishing and never doing. It'll all be in the past until the winter Olympics start in 2 years. Then I'll be wishing I stuck with ice skating.
So now it's just enjoying it while it's here for 2 weeks and day dreaming of what might have been.
Putt Putting
Thursday Todd and I got to go Putt Putting with our neighbors. It was Jessica's birthday and they invited us to come along. We had so much fun. Jessica and Alma were able to witness that I have no talent when it comes to golfing. It was pretty sad. Our first hole it took me 6 tries to make it in the hole. It was a good way to start. I was pretty consistent through out the game. Although I did make my one and only Hole In One! Probably my first and last. It was pretty sweet too. I do have to admit that I made it on my second try. They let me have a do over. It's probably cause Alma made some comment about it being an easy hole. So I started and my ball ping ponged, between the sides, and then pretty much came right back to me. Easy hole, right! It was up to Todd if I got to do it again, and probably against his will, he let me. I hit it again and then next thing I knew it was going in the hole! It was sweet. Todd did real well, but unfortunately I brought him down. When we added our scores we lost as a couple, mainly cause of me! Whatever.
After putt putting we went and had cake and ice cream at the Bate's apartment, and talked the night away. Then we made our long trek back to our apartment. The whole 15 steps! It's nice having friends right next door to ya.

Yellowstone Trip
This weekend, while Todd's parents were in town, we went up to Yellowstone National Park. That place is amazing. On Sunday we started out by visiting many of the different geysers, calphadoras, springs, falls. We visited the Upper and Lower Falls. They were beautiful. To get even closer we walked down Uncle Tom's Trail to get to the bottom of the upper falls. We walked down some extremely steep stairs that weren't too bad until you realized how they were hooked to the mountain. To the end the day we went and saw Old Faithful go off.
Monday we went on a hike for the majority of the day. Todd found a trail that started out at the Biscuit Basin and the distination was the Mystic Falls. We hiked clear to the bottom and, if other people weren't already there, we probably would have gotten right next to the fall. I think you always know how powerful a waterfall can be, but being right next to it you can truly feel it. Something that was really interesting was that they river was nice and cool, but on some parts of the side of the mountain, there were little streams going into the river that were hot. Nature is truly remarkable. Just walking through the park you can't deny it. During the hike, the view was breathtaking. At one of the overlooks we could see Old Faithful going off in the distance.
I think I walked more this weekend than I have all year! We were hoping to be able to see some wildlife, but we pretty much only saw Bison. On Monday we saw quite a few deer, but no Bear, or Moose. Todd and I are feeling the consequence of not putting sunscreen on, yet again. Maybe some day we'll learn. But it was an experience that I'm grateful we were able to take advantage of. Hopefully someday we'll be able to get up there and visit more of the park.

Revamped
Todd is about finished with another one of his birthday presents. My parents gave him some money to get whatever he wished. This is where I have decided that Todd and I are very different. When I get birthday money like that I usually go buy clothes and shoes. Todd on the other hand has different ideas on spending his money.
As most know Todd got a new bike a couple months ago. It was his "dream bike". Well, he's decided to add a few minor changes to it. Here's what he originally had:

He now has a "cooler" bike:

Beautiful huh?! Joe and Debbie (Todd's parents) came to visit last night, and Joe spent most of the day today helping Todd fix it up. We had to go back down to the bike shop today, with the actual bike, and while we were leaving Todd mentioned that he already had 3 compliments. One guy even got out of his car to tell Todd how sweet it was, got back in and drove away. Yes, people are encouraging him!
Now while riding it to school he doesn't have to turn and look behind to see if a car's coming, he has some sweet mirrors. He was like a kid in a candy store when he was picking everything out. Now all he needs to find is his vintage speedometer and he'll be set.
