2008 Olympics

It's Olympic time again! WooHoo! Honestly I get a little excited for it. There's just something about it. Todd and I watched the opening ceremonies last night. They were pretty sweet. Started watching some volleyball today, but then switched the channel. We'll see how much of it we actually watch.

When I watch the Olympics, it makes me wish that I stuck with things. Probably much to my parents disappointments, I pretty much quit every sport they put me in. I played soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, and even gymnastics. Heck, if I stuck with even one I'd probably be somewhat good at it. But I was a slacker and hated practices.

Just seeing some of the things they do makes me want to get up and do it. I remember one summer, growing up, my friend and I tried to do synchronized swimming in my back yard. We thought it was so cool after watching it. If I was home right now I'd probably go do some laps in the pool. There's some lady who's 41 that's on the US Swim Team. So maybe if I start something now, I can do the same right?! I mean you can never give up no mater what age you are. She's probably better than some of the girls that are half her age.

Sadly once the Olympics are over I'll probably just go back to wishing and never doing. It'll all be in the past until the winter Olympics start in 2 years. Then I'll be wishing I stuck with ice skating.

So now it's just enjoying it while it's here for 2 weeks and day dreaming of what might have been.
