The Beginings of a Baker

I always thought it'd be neat if I had a child who wanted to follow in my footsteps and really enjoy baking. Anytime I start to make something Everett usually comes in and joins. He helps turn the mixer on, whisk things, and pour stuff in the bowl. He's gradually getting better and better:) But he's most favorite part of baking:

Licking the bowl! He's already learning the benefits of being the baker! He was helping make a pie for our Easter dinner and once he tried the filling he wanted more and more. I love it. The best part. He not only gets to lick the bowl, but gets to watch some "bob" in the process!

Easter Weekend

We had a great Easter Weekend. On Saturday we were able to take Everett to his fist Easter Egg Hunt. It was different than I thought it'd be! There really weren't any eggs. Just a whole bunch of candy thrown everywhere. He had a good time though. It took him a sec to get the hang of it, but once he realized what was going on all he could do was go and pick up the candy and his bubbles he wanted!

Saturday night we went to my Aunt and Uncles for a little Easter dinner. It was nice to spend that time with family and visit. We're so grateful for all they do for us and their generosity. It's nice to have a little family close by since most of ours is so far away. It makes time here a little easier!

All in all we had a good time. Most importantly we were able to reflect more on the atonement of Christ and all he has done for us. I'm grateful for the sacrifice He made that allows me and my family to return home to our Heavenly Father. We an amazing gift we have been given. The blessings are endless if we make use of it in our daily lives.

Old Toy, New Way to Play

Everett doesn't play in his exersaucer any more, but he still plays with the toys on it. I usually have it just up against the wall, but this morning he wanted it out. I decided to just leave it locked together cause when it's up it's a hassle to put back down and I figured he doesn't sit in it anyway so whats the point! I went and did some more cleaning and when I walked by his room this is what I found:

I thought it was pretty humorous. He apparently likes it locked up too! He sat like that forever and played.

He doesn't look too thrilled, but that's how he takes pictures for me now. Once I put the lens back on the camera he gave me a big smile. The little teaser!

Tonsils

About a month and half ago we took Everett into the doctor cause he'd been running a low fever and was not eating or drinking a thing. We thought it might have been an ear infection, but found out different from the doctor. It was his tonsils. He was put on antibiotics and after a day or so was back to being his normal self.

After getting home from Utah Sunday night Everett started to act real clingy again and was starting to feel warm. I was chalking it up to his teeth. He'd been having really bad diapers lately, he's been chewing on his fingers a ton, and he wasn't eating, but was still drinking a lot. Those were the same symptoms he's had every other time he cut teeth. We're waiting on his 2 year molars so that's what I kinda thought it was. Come Monday he didn't get any better. When this kid will just sit on your lap and touch nothing something is up! We left work early to just hang out and rest. That night despite taking Tylenol and Motrin his temperature starting rising more and more. We got up to 104 degrees and a few a hours later he started to get the chills. Needless to say something else was wrong besides his teeth coming in.

That morning we scheduled an appointment and headed to the doctor. Of course at this point he was back to a normal temperature, but I still felt like something was wrong. So she checks his ears. Nothing. Looks in his mouth and her eyes got real big! Not something a mother wants to see from her child's doctor. It was his tonsils, again. This time it was much worse. He had the white puss bags and everything. Poor kid. I felt horrible thinking I didn't see it.

This round of tonsillitis was a lot worse and harder to get over. We went to the doctor Tuesday and didn't start seeing real improvements until Friday. All week he's been running a fever off and on. And it breaks your heart to watch him breath while he's sleeping. We thought it was congestion, but found out his snoring was because his tonsils were swollen. I've never seen this kid sleep so much, but it has paid off. Luckily he's back to eating and playing again. You can still tell they hurt, but it's nothing compared to the beginning of the week. Hopefully this is our last run in with his tonsils, or they might not being staying in for too long.

This is how he spent the majority of his week being sick.

Quick Trip

This past weekend we were able to make a last minute trip down to Utah to visit family. We found out that Todd's parents were driving over so we thought we'd drive down to see them. We stayed with Todd's Grandma Wilson and had a great time. Wish it could have been longer, but it was better then nothing.

The weather was great for the most part. By Saturday evening it was back to being chilly and a storm was coming in, but at least we got a little warmth in. We spent our day down there with Todd's parents and brother Troy. We were able to visit with some of his Aunts and Uncles. To end the day we went and walked around Ikea. I've decided you shouldn't really go in there unless A.you have money to spend on anything random that pops out at you, or B.you're going in there for something specific! They had a lot of cool stuff, but it takes FOREVER to walk through.

Our visit came to end Sunday morning when we all had to drive back home. Everett had so much fun playing around with his Grandma and Grandpa Wilson. He's always excited to be the center of attention! Sadly the only pictures I took were of Everett Saturday morning before we started out the day. We need to get back into the swing of taking pictures! He had found a toy dinosaur and would not give the thing up. So it was part of our picture taking too!
