Then Comes Baby in the Baby Carriage

Todd and I are happy to announce that we're expecting! We are so excited and couldn't be more happy! The ultrasound of the baby was at about 91/2 weeks. I'm just about 11 now. Not quite out of my first trimester, but I promised Todd that if he could contain his excitement for a few weeks then we could tell everyone. My due date is August 26. We have truly been blessed and couldn't be more happy for what this new adventure holds for us. Luckily when we found out was just before we went home for the holidays so we were able to tell our families in person. Both families are equally excited and have been so supportive. The best part in telling them in person is that we were able to record their reactions.

Here is when we told the Wilsons. We were able to tell them on Christmas day just after we had all opened our presents. After Debbie opened the present we were able to take pictures and text them to all of Todd's sisters to tell them.

Here we are telling my family. For Christmas all the kids went in and bought my parents a DVD Recorder to burn all our old family videos onto DVDs. So we had just gone up stairs to watch a little bit of what had already been done. Just as we were all about to get up Todd and I gave my mom her gift. I think she new what was going on before she read what was on the outfit.

Man I loved my mom's reaction. Then the fact that my brother, Scott, had to leave the room. What was funny too was that my niece Brooklyn, she was the one opening the present with my mom, I don't think really understood what was going on. So now my mom has the outfit for when she comes up. Sorry mom and dad for ruining your cruise for the second time.

Everything's going well though. We go in to hear the heartbeat for the first time in a couple weeks. So hopefully we'll have more good news then! So right now we're just enjoying our time and figuring out things we need to do to help prepare us for when the baby comes!

Since We've Been Back...

Photobucket

These past two weeks have been crazy busy! Vacations are nice, but sometimes it seems as though you need a couple days just to get back into the swing of things and recoop.

Todd started school on the 7th. He's been busy with homework and studying. He also started a new job the same day! He's working in the locker room on campus. WooHoo! He works early in the morning, which he enjoys cause he gets it over and done with.
I found that taking two weeks off, from work, is not a real good idea. I came back and had to do my work for those two weeks plus keep up with the current work and get everything switched from 2008 to 2009. The first week we were back was a whirlwind. Luckily everything's finally caught up and I'm able to be back into my normal routine. It's a little more relaxing.
We have officially been in Idaho for a year now. It's crazy to think that. This year has seriously gone by so fast. It's amazing to look back and see the experiances we've had and the things we've been able to accomplish. This is the first place where Todd and I have lived longer than 6 months. Which is real nice. I'm so glad we're not packing and moving anymore. It's nice to finally be able to settle and realize that where you are is home for a while.

Last weekend we kinda just relaxed and took it easy from our busy week, but this past weekend we were able to go out and get some things done. We went and bought some new curtains. I was way excited. The best part is that when we went to look at them, the ones I've been wanting were on clearance. They don't really match our couches, but I finally decided that anything I wanted didn't really match them so I got over and just got em. They look really nice too and it feels like our living room is finally becoming more complete.

All this hard work:

It's ALL gone

Well, I finally had the courage to cut my hair. For the past three months, since I made my appointment, I've been trying to decide what to do. Cut it short, or keep it long. I kept going back and forth and back and forth. The day before my appointment I made the decision to cut it, but keep it somewhat long. Just add shape or something. So my sister and I went for our appointments on New Years Eve. Sarah went first, which was horrible cause I kept contemplating it again. I'd look in the mirror and I still couldn't decide. Finally it was my turn. As Kelly was washing my hair we were talking about what styles I like and what I want to do. The bottom of my hair was pretty damaged (that's what happens when you don't cut it for a year I was told). So I had to cut more than I originally planned the day before. As we go back to the chair, with Kelly's help, I made my decision.

I should have taken a before picture, but I didn't. This is the best picture I could find where you could see how long my hair was.

And here is the after:

I really like it. And it doesn't look too bad curly either. I thought I'd look like a Chia Pet, but to my surprise I don't. I cut over 10 inches and was able to donate it to Locks of Love!

Long Trip Home

Well we have officially made it to Texas and back. All I know is that I really did not miss the Idaho weather while we were gone. Texas was amazing as usually. Weather was awesome! We got back on Monday, but only made it to Utah. The roads and traffic were horrible so we stayed with my cousin Kim and her family that night in Woodscross. We moved 35 miles in 2 hours. It was horrible. We knew we wouldn't get in till way late and that the roads would probably get worst at night, so Kim and her family were generous enough to let us crash with them. We were so grateful for that. Now we're back into the swing of things. Todd started class today and I went back to work yesterday. It almost feels as though we never left.

Salt Lake City

Our first leg of our trip started in Salt Lake. We left the Saturday before Christmas and spent some time with Todd's friend Dave and his wife Shelly. Sunday night we were able to go to Temple Square and see all the Christmas lights. It was so pretty. I didn't get to take too many pictures, but here are the few I did.

Christmas With The Wilsons

Let's just say that we had a pretty warm Christmas this year. It was 80 degrees on Christmas day! We had a pretty good week with the Wilsons. We got to go on base a couple times with Tom and just have fun hanging out with each other.

Todd got a new Nuggets jacket, which I have to say looks pretty good on him. He got me a new Fossil Wallet that I've been wanting, and some new bubble bath. I always use his shampoo and can't justify buying bubble bath when I have his shampoo. So he went and got me some really good stuff. I've already been able to use them a couple times. We also got some gift certificates to Target, which half of mine has already been spent! Todd also got The Lord of the Rings DVDs from his parents. He only has one more book to read, but we cheated and already went ahead and watched the 3rd one. That day we were able to just sit around a relax and enjoy a delicious Christmas dinner.

The next day we were able to participate in Slade's baby blessing. To see the pictures from it go here. It was really neat. He is such a cute baby!

We had so much fun spending time with Todd's family and just being able to hang out. Especially being able to see Tom and Bernie's new baby boy!

Christmas With The Tucketts

I finally made it home! I was away for over a year and it felt so good to be back. We got to my parents on the 28th and was able to spend the whole week with them. We got to see some new movies. Monday we went to Marley and Me which was way good. It touched a little too close to home for our family, but it was a pretty funny movie. My parents got a WII for Christmas so that was what much of our entertainment was the whole week. My nephew Baden loved playing with Todd. When my brother's got there Mariocart was constantly on.

New Years was just New Years. I sadly couldn't even stay up at all. We watched Wall-e and I feel asleep within the first 10 minutes. So needless to say I wasn't very exciting. Mom cooked our traditional Black Eyed Peas which Todd experienced for the first time. So now we'll have a year of good luck! At least I hope so.

For the New Years weekend my parents got us all a room at The Great Wolf Lodge. It's a new hotel in town that has a huge water park inside. Scott and Todd had fun going and trying out the water slides. The kids loved it especially Baden. He was able to come on some of the bigger slides with us, but Brooklyn wasn't as daring.

Saturday we had our Tuckett Christmas. It was a blast as always. Todd got a new Army sweatshirt and t-shirt. I got a sweet to sewing basket and fabric scissors. I'm really excited to get everything organized. It made me want to start a new project. We both got our annual Christmas Eve PJs. My mom was very creative this year and made the girls all spa christmas bags. We got a towel, some bubble bath, chapstick, new razor, sleeping mask. Love it! Todd got a whole bunch of new tools in his bag. All the boys got a first aid kit for our next road trip. This was because of what they were like during Thanksgiving. My parents were amazing. They gave Todd and I something that I don't think either of us expected. A new video camera! It's awesome. Todd was so excited. He started playing with it that night. It came with a tri-pod too. We must have been pretty good this year to have deserved it. After the kids opened our presents we took my parents up stairs and gave them theirs. We bought a DVD Recorder so that we could burn all our old home videos into DVDs. We sat around and watched a couple of them later. It was so fun. Todd and I got a kick out of watching them when we were recording everything, but it was so much more fun with every one there.

Sunday Scott, Julie, Spencer, and Jordan had to leave and it pretty much ended our week. We had so much fun and created so many more memories. I'm so grateful we were able to go down this year. I couldn't have asked for anything else.
