Sitting King

Sittin

Everett started sitting this past weekend! I think he probably could have done it a while ago, but we were so focused on getting him to roll. So once he rolled we decided we'd see how he'd do. The first couple times he'd sit there and then fall over, but he eventually got it down pretty good by the end of the day. I think we were a little surprised by how fast he picked it up! It's amazing to me how much he's growing and how fast it's happening!!

Sittin2

He loves sitting now. We've been giving him baths in his little bathtub, but the other day I thought we'd try having him sit in the actual tub. He loved it!! I think he was little leery at first, but then realized how much more he could do. He plays with his toys now and starts to splash. All just from sitting!

ahh...

Rollin Rollin Rollin

Our little man is becoming quite the roller. He doesn't really keep rolling, but rather goes back and forth. Then he scoots and rolls again. The other day I was baking some cookies and when I turned around Everett wasn't there. But then something underneath our coffee table caught my eye. He had rolled underneath! When Todd and I went to look at him he had a face like "whats the big deal?" I've not only found him underneath our table, but he has rolled into our entertainment center. There's a section at the bottom that's a hole and we have somethings in there. Sure enough I start hearing stuff being knocked over. He rolled in it and was kicking. He is enjoying he's new milestone:)

5 Months

Handsome

Everett's 5 months old today!! He's getting so big, and sooooooooo active. I don't know what I'm going to do when he starts crawling and walking. He's grabbing for anything and everything, and then those things end up in his mouth. He LOVES attention, and gets plenty of it. Everyone at works continues to stop by and see him. When Todd keeps him home, everyone notices when he's gone and asks where he is.

In the past month he's become so much more active. He'd been able to roll from his stomach to back for awhile, but had never been real consistent. Now for the past 1 or 2 two he's been doing it all the time. So we tried working more on going from back to stomach and he finally got it down yesterday! He use to now really know how to move his arm from underneath his stomach, but he figured it out! Now he's constantly going back and forth when he's on the ground. Granted he wont really do it on demand. I was trying to show Todd last night and he'd just stare at us. It was finally when we just let him be that he started doing it again.

Eating an Orange

He is becoming way more vocal. He loves to eat tons now. Before I could barely get him to drink 4oz. and now he chugs down 6. We tried feeding him rice cereal, but he had a little reaction to it so we're giving him a little break on that. Anytime I'm eating an apple or orange, he wants some. He just sucks on the apple, but devours the orange slices. Then when it's gone he gets a little upset!

We love our a little man and are enjoying every minute with him. I'm trying to savor those moments of cuddling (usually only when he's sleeping), giggles, and everything else. I have to keep reminding myself he'll only be this small once. He truly is a joy and we can't get enough of him.

Christmas Vacation

We had a great Christmas! It started a little early with opening presents from the Wilsons. Everett opened his first present. Sme new pants and of course a new Denver Bronco's Jacket. Both are for when he's a little bigger. Todd was pretty excited about the Bronco's jacket. Now he'll be wearing the jacket wrapped up in a Cowboy's blanket. Poor kid:) Todd and I got a new DVD/VCR, a cooler, and a Brita pitcher. Pretty sweet! Todd was happy when he went to hook up the dvd player and found that our TV is too old for it. It gives him more leverage for buying a new TV.

We began our actual Christmas vacation on the 24th. We headed down to Salt Lake and stayed with my very generous Aunt and Uncle. The fed us quite well and got up early to take us to the airport Christmas day. Our first flight took us to Denver. Everett was great. Slept most of the way. Didn't cry a bit. Our layover in Denver was suppose to be 2 hours. So Todd's parents came and ate a quick breakfast with us before we made our way back to catch our next flight. Unfortunately due to the weather that week our plane was stuck somewhere else. 2 hours turned to almost 4. The joys of traveling! We met some interesting people who took our pictures and just hung out waiting.

Once we were able to board the plane Everett was not a happy camper. Luckily his crying only lasted while we were taxing and he fell asleep before take off. The benefits from the delayed flight-free cable tv and the pilot flew faster! He told us he was going to try and make up some time, and he sure did! We finally made it to Dallas around 3 pm. It was so good to finally be done and see my parents.

Christmas night we opened some of our gifts. Everett got some new toys and an outfit from his Grammy and Grandpa. After Everett finished opening his Todd and I exchanged our gifts. Todd got a copy of the new Spanish Bible and some money to get a new pair of shoes. He gave me a picture frame set I'd been wanting and a necklace with Everett's name and birthstone. I love it! I actually only got the picture for Christmas and finally got the real thing in the mail Tuesday! Pretty exciting.

Everett Presents

The next night we went and saw Avatar with my parents. Pretty good movie. I didn't think he was going to be very interesting, but I was wrong. My sister, Sarah, kept Everett while we went. It was the first time someone took him and had him for a long period of time. I'll admit it was a little weird not having my little companion, but it was nice to get out for a little bit. And he was able to spend some time with all his cousins!

The rest of the week was spent visiting old friends, shopping, hanging out, shopping, running errands, shopping....Just having plain ol fun! I don't think Todd has ever spent so much time in a mall. We would go out with my parents, but I don't think he realized how much my dad loved to shop and how long we'd be shopping! I had a good time, and I think he got a little more use to it towards the end of our trip. He did get to eat at Chipotle twice and have 5 Guys Burgers and Fries. So he there was a benefit from all that shopping.

Everett & Ginger

The Tuckett Family Christmas was celebrated on New Years day. My brothers and their families made it up New Years Eve. We were able to play tons of Band Hero and enjoy a game of Apples to Apples. Then ended the night with our traditional banging of the pots and pans to ring in the new year. New Years day was just a nice and relaxing one. Todd got some Wii action, I got to bake. Pretty good time. We opened all our Christmas gifts and then had some Black Eyed Peas so we'd have a year of good luck!

Opening Christmas gifts brought all the usual excitement with my sisters kids. It's going to be fun when Everett really understands what a present is and anticipation of opening it. Todd got a sweet new apron my sister made. Now he can use it anytime he's grilling. I got some lotions and hair product from Aveda. And Everett got some more toys and clothes! He's going to be a stud with all the new clothes his Grammy and Grandpa got him! For our family gift I really wish I had took a picture of Todd's reaction. My sister and her husband had already opened their gift and got a statue of Christ. Our box was about the same size and shape. So while Todd was opening it he goes "I think we got the same thing as Sa.....". Looks at me and a big grin appears. I'm sure he would have been just as excited if we got the same thing as Sarah, but we didn't. My parents got us a Wii. His face was PRICELESS. I missed a really good photo opportunity. He was so excited cause he now he gets to buy games he really wants to play now. I swear each day there's something new we're saving up for now. Another nun-chuck controller, Super Mario Brothers, and the list goes on.

Christmas Presents

We wrapped up our week by taking some family pictures. More priceless memories were to be had. Todd played some more Band Hero. He was trying to master the guitar. He stayed up till 2 AM Sunday morning playing it. Starting around 11 he kept telling me one more song. I quit singing at that time and just watched. Then came my mom and Spencer. Around 12:30 she tells him he better quit cause if Scott comes home and sees him he'll want to play. Sure enough a few minutes later Scott and Julie come home. Scott walked in the room and went straight to the drums and started playing. I'll have to admit it was pretty entertaining.

Last Minute Pictures

We had such a good time and of course it was hard to leave. I'm usually pretty good about the crying. I can usually hold till I'm at least at the airport saying goodbye, but not this time. It started the night before. Sad I know. But it's Sarah's fault! She started crying first:) Hopefully someday it wont be so hard to leave, but as for now I'm grateful for the times we get to make it down there and spend time with family.
