A Week with Grammy and Grandpa

The past few weeks have been a little stressful.  Well, I should say the past few months.  IT seems the closer I get to the end of this pregnancy the more stressed, tired, and emotional I have become.  It's been hard on the kiddos and we've been cooped up a lot.  The heat gets to me quick so sadly we aren't spending much time outside and getting rid of energy.

A week ago I was having an especially hard day.  IT had been a hard week. I think I called me mom everyday asking her questions about how to handle Everett.  I was losing my temper very easily and things just weren't not very happy around our house.  Friday morning some things happened and I started to have contractions.  They weren't super painful, but they were somewhat consistent.  So we took it easy the rest of the day.  THat evening my mom called and told me that her and my dad were on their way down to get the kids for the week.  She wanted me to take it easy and didn't want me going into labor at 35 weeks with a breech baby.  I was hesitant at first.  I can handle my own kids!  I know it's been rough, but I am their mom.
My parents came and took them. It was a little hard at first, but honestly it was something the 3 of us needed.  I love those two with all my heart, but we all needed a little break.  I got tons of rest.  Todd wouldn't let me do much either. And the kids got to play their hearts out.  I have a few pictures that were sent.  It would make me tear up a little thinking I wasn't with them, but I was so happy they were having such a good time.  They went to Chuck E Cheese (everett's new favorite place!), Bonkers, got to have sleep overs with their cousins, spent lots of time in the pool, and of course went shopping with Grandpa.  They came home with new shoes and swim toys.  Jacquelyn was sooooo excited about her new shoes and is now constantly putting them on.
WHile at bonkers Baden won the kids some stuff.  One of which was a sucker.  Jacquelyn is very much a candy girl.  It's like she can smell it a mile away.  My sister sent me these pictures before she had the sucker and when she finally got it.  This is pretty typical!
My mom had some procedures done while they were there so my sister took the kids for a few days.  Everett was heaven.  He had endless amounts of transformers and legos.  He still talks about them.  Jacquelyn had fun with the girls.  Here she is trying on Brooklyn's underware.

On the 27th my parents made their way back down and spent the weekend here with us in Mt. Vernon.  We had so much fun.  Sadly Todd had to work and never got to come hang out with us.  Thursday we went to my parents hotel, after the got in, and went swimming. Friday we drove out to Texarkana to get some Sam's Club shopping down and visit the state line again.  Saturday we tried visiting a chocolate factory, but it as closed.  So we drove around and showed my parents a few things and then they headed home.  We had so much fun.

While my parents were here my dad bought the kids some treats.  Ice cream with waffle cone bowls.  We were super busy and never got to actually have them.  We didn't get home till super late every night they were here.  So tonight after dinner we enjoyed our special treats.  He bought Neapolitan ice cream.  Everett kept telling us it has a little bit of everything! Him and my dad went shopping together and picked everything out.  Jacquelyn LOVED the waffle bowl.  Everett didn't care for it too much at first, but once his ice cream was gone he finally started eating it.

Jacquelyn started making this funny laugh while we were eating.  It got a good chuckle out of it.  Luckily Todd was fast enough to get a video.

As hard as it was to admit i needed help and rest, I am so grateful for Grammy and Grandpa coming and rescuing the kids.  And for my sister adding 2 more to her already 4 kids.  They had so much.  I loved hearing their stories and seeing them interact with my parents.  Everett has always been a little shy around them, but this past week completely opened him up.  Jacquelyn now keeps talking about Grammy and Papa.
