Lyla Kay Wilson

Our little Ms Lyla Kay was born on Thursday, July 25, 2013.  At 32 weeks we found out she was breech.  We were told she still had a pretty good chance of flipping.  But with each appointment nothing happened and our chances got slimmer and slimmer.  At 38 1/2 she was still breech and a c-section was scheduled.  To me it wasn't that big of a deal.  As long as she was healthy.  But as the time grew closer I was getting pretty nervous.  I had never had any kind of surgery before.
After a week of waiting Thursday the 25th finally came.  We made the drive down at 5:00am so we could be there at 5:30am.  After 2 hours of prepping and getting things ready Todd was taken out of the room and I was wheeled into the surgery room.  I got all drugged and ready to go.  Todd was brought back in and the surgery started.  I have to say that it was a weird experience and honestly I hope I don't have to do it again! Dr. McKeller told me I'd feel some pressure. Sure enough I did.  The next thing I hear is screaming and Dr. Moore telling us it's a girl.  I could tell Todd was excited.  He'd been wanting another girl, but we were pretty sure it was a boy.  We we wrong! She was 7lbs. 1oz. and 18 1/2in. long.

After getting to see her for the first time, her and Todd were whisked away to the nursery while I was sewn up.  Once the doctor's were all done I was wheeled back into the recovery room.  While there they brought Lyla in and she was screaming her lungs out.  Seriously it was loud. The nurse informs me that she hasn't stopped and then handed her off to me.  I was laying on my back and couldn't move with this screaming baby in my arms.  Honestly, even though she was my 3rd, I was a little terrified.
We hung out with my parents for awhile.  The kids got to meet their new sister.  Everett did really well, but Jacquelyn was a little unsure about things.  She would come to see Lyla, but did not want to touch her yet.  After lunch time my parents and kids headed out to make their way back to Dallas.
Lyla didn't calm down much until late that afternoon.  Later that night she was up for almost 4 hours.  I couldn't do much to calm her down.  And at that point I was tired/stressed/emotional/overwhelmed/hurting.  Todd tried things, I tried things.  The nurse finally took her away to the nursery so I could rest.  I felt hopeless.  Here I was her mother and couldn't do a thing.  At the same time I was truly worried that that was what she was always going to me like.
After a few hours rest the nurse brought our baby girl back as quiet as can be.  From that moment on things were completely different.  She was so peaceful, quiet, and cuddly.  I don't know if her life just changed so abruptly and that's why she was like that, but how grateful I am that she found some peace.
We love her to pieces already and are so grateful to have her sweet spirit in our home.  After 2 nights Todd and I were able to bring her home on Saturday and begin our new life.  Luckily we are able to transition a little while my parents have Everett and Jacquelyn!
She was not happy as we were getting ready to leave! Luckily she calmed down as soon as the carseat started moving.

Lots of New Posts

Since this baby is coming soon I thought I better go through all our pictures and get update on this little blog.  Then I could have things documented before I really forget what happened.  There are quite a few new ones so keep the older posts button at the bottom!

Anniversary Weekend

Today is our 6 year anniversary.  There are times when I think 6 years has been a long time, but then I see others and realize it hasn't been that long!  The past 6 years we've moved 5 times, had 2 children, Todd graduated, Todd got a job, and we became pregnant with baby number 3.  We've had some good times and I wouldn't change it for anything.

This weekend was pretty laid back.  We decided we weren't going to really do anything special.  Just hang out.  When we found out this weekend would be our last as a family of 4 we decided we should take the kids somewhere fun and have a nice family weekend.  So we drove out to Rockwall, Texas.  It's a little over an hour away, but the closest somewhat big city before getting into the Dallas area.  The main reason we were going there was because they had a Chuck E Cheese.  Everett has wanted to go back there since he came home from my parents.  He asks me all the time.  Most of the time he tells me to get on my phone and it'll tell me how to get there! I don't think he understands that I know how to get there it's just far away.

When Everett found out we were going he was so excited.  I've never seen this kid,s face light up the way it did.  They had so much fun.  They would go from one game to another. I think Jacquelyn's favorite part was putting the tokens in the machines.

Jacquelyn was so excited to be on this game.  It was a roller coaster.  But the minute it started moving she was not having it!

THis little boy was wondering around and would just randomly join the kids.  As soon as he saw the toy move he'd jump in with them. It was kinda weird!  Neither of them were sure how to react.  And quite honestly neither was I.

Todd got to play a little game of his own.

After we played they got to turn in all their tickets and pick out some toys.  All Jacquelyn wanted was candy. She was standing and just kept saying "candy, candy, candy".
And of course we couldn't leave with out playing on the playground first!

We later went and ate dinner at Snuffers and then did a little shopping before heading back home.  We had such a fun time!
