Camp Out

So as you all know I recently went on a camping trip. Let me tell you that it was pretty dog gone fun. Just some of the facts, we stayed there for 3 days and 2 nights. We saw a bear that was on the trail about 20 feet in front of us, we just backed away and just went back to camp. We learned how to do bear bags, properly filter water, leave no trace. There was tons of laughs and we also saw a mouse get burned alive. All in all it was a very fun experience that I thoroughly
enjoyed.

We had just stopped so the teacher was explaining something, so i decided to take a little video of the view of where we were at. The whole hike followed the river. It was pretty cool.

We played a game with the close pins, we were suppose to sneak them off the other people, needless to say (with a little help from others) I won.

100%!!!!

Well everybody, it took me a while but I finally got 100% on one of my math tests. So that is pretty cool huh that's what I'm talking about.
I have taken four tests before that when I have missed just one question and its been bugging me. so i finally got it.

Todd's Gone Camping

Todd is taking a class this semester called Basic Skills. It's pretty much an outdoor class. Well, for part of his class he has to go camping with the rest of his class. He's been excited about since he found out. I first was a little sad, but then realized that my friend, Jennifer, and I could finally have a girls night. We haven't had one for probably almost two years (she just got home from her mission in December). We're both real excited. We have plans for tomorrow night! We're going to go to a comedy show that BYU-I is holding on campus.

Anyway, Todd left this morning. So I've been cleaning since I got home from work. I started in the kitchen, moved to the living room, and then went and completely rearranged our bedroom. I hated how it was set up. So I thought, what better chance to change it than now. I like it soooo much better now! Our room is tiny with a huge bed. Before our bed was almost against the wall. But in between the wall and the bed was a bunch of our stuff that we don't have anywhere else to store. There wasn't any walking space and Todd always had to crawl to get to his side of the bed. So with my cramming experience, I moved the bed and shoved everything underneath it. There was so much room under there that we weren't using. Now there's a little less stuff just sitting out in the opening! And Todd doesn't have to crawl into bed anymore. There's more walking space that now we both can get in on our own side of the bed! Hopefully he'll like the new arrangement! It'll be a nice surprise for when he gets home on Saturday.

It's weird not having him here. He's only gone for 2 1/2 days, but it's the first time we've been apart that I've been alone. When we were first married I went back home to Dallas for our reception down there. He stayed in Denver for 3 or 4 days, but I had my family. Now there's nothing. At least Jennifer and I will be able to hang out tomorrow night. Hopefully that'll help time go by a little faster.

HAPPY ST. PATRICKS DAY!

I'm a day late writing this, but oh well. Hope everyone one had a fantastic St. Patrick's Day. I come to realize that it's not quite what I remember it to be. I think there were 3 people (that I noticed) wearing green at work, and 1 was me. I can remember if I didn't wear green growing up my mom would be pinching me. Lucky for Todd I wasn't my mom yesterday. The other day we saw a commercial come on saying they are trying to make St. Patrick's Day a national holiday. I don't know if they should considering that it's an Irish holiday, but who knows. I just like wearing green that day!

Todd got a little surprise last night for dinner though. Well, first I am going to say that he RUINED the surprise. I was making dinner and told him to close his eyes while I was bringing it to the table. Well, I was getting everything ready and on their plates to bring over when I turn around and Todd's eyes are opened staring in my direction!! He's excuse, "You told me to close my eyes, but you didn't say how long." Whatever. He knew I was making waffles and eggs, but he didn't know what color they were going to be. Green!! The picture makes them look gross, but they were still good. So we had green waffles and green eggs on green plates! We couldn't have been more festive. ;)

Butterfly

Todd and I had been in our new apartment for a couple weeks when this random butterfly came out of no where. We had no clue where it had been. Todd, like a normal person would do, took it outside to let it be free. It had been a couple minutes when i went out and the butterfly never moved. It couldn't fly. Granted it was below 0 at the time was probably why. So I brought it in thinking we could keep it warm till it warmed up a little outside. I even went online to find out what to feed butterflies. So I put out a little dish of sugar water hopping it would drink it. After a couple days it started flying every where but would always end up by the windows and when it would stay there it wouldn't be able to fly again cause it would freeze. One day we went to find our little friend and it was dead. Since it kept going by the window one night there was a bunch of precipitation and it got all wet. So I threw it in the trash can.

Well, last night Todd and I were eating dinner when out of no where, once again, came this butterfly! It was bigger than the other one, but looked exactly the same! Same coloring, same pattern on it's wings everything. So I was like "Todd, it ressurected!" Then he goes on to remind me that I threw the last butterfly in the trash and we took the trash out so it was most likely long gone. We have no clue where the butterfly came from. So this one is either it's sibling, or it's coming back to haunt us, who knows. We were going to take it outside today since it's a lot warmer now then when the first butterfly was here, but it's hiding somewhere. So i guess we'll just have to wait till it comes out again.

Sunday Evening

So our home teachers came over tonight for the first time. They're real nice guys. We've been in our ward for a little over two months now and don't quite know anybody. We've met a few people, but haven't gotten to really know anyone.

So anyway, tonight our home teacher's called and asked if they could come over and of course we said sure. Todd and I were straightening things up when I realized what I was wearing and he said "who cares, I doubt they'll dress up." So I stayed in my t-shirt and work out capris. But then I decided that I looked like I was just in my pajamas, so I went and put some jeans on real quick. I knew what Todd was wearing but didn't really even think about it until the home teacher's left.

This is what my husband was wearing to meet our home teacher's for the first time:

He was in his basketball shorts, nuggets sweatshirt with his church socks and slippers! Yup he sure has a sense of fashion! You gotta love it. I guess he keeps things interesting.

Office Manager

I've been working at Potato Products of Idaho for just a little over a month now. I really enjoy it. The people I work with are awesome and what I do is very interesting. Well, to me at least. I've been the assistant to our office manager, but today they promoted me up to office manager! It's a bittersweet feeling. They let Kalia go and I got promoted. I've really gotten to know her and have formed a nice friendship with her. I knew all along she would eventually leave, but I didn't think she'd leave this soon. I'm nervous and excited at the same time. I've been able to have her as a crutch but now it's all up to me. But I think it'll good. This is a really good opportunity for us right now. It also means that I might not have to get a second job! Anyway, I'll start my new position on Monday. Luckily I have a couple more days to cram everything in before I'm left all alone!

Not to Cut

Well, I didn't cut it. For some reason I just couldn't do it. When I got it cut in New York, I just went in and got it done and ended up loving. But this time, I went in signed some papers, waited for about 5 minutes and then walked out. As I was walking out I could hear the girl that was going to cut my hair looking for me. All I know is that those were the longest 5 minutes of my life. I just saw all these other girls getting their hair cut and I kept picturing, in my head, someone butchering my hair. There's only been two people I've really been able to trust to cut my hair. One is in Elmira, NY and the other is in Dallas. So, maybe I'll just have to wait till the next time I'm in either one of those places. Who knows. One thing I've learned from this whole experience is that my mom and Todd are very similar. Or maybe similar when it comes to my hair. They both tell me it'll grow, it's just hair. Then when I got home Todd laughed and when I called my mom she laughed! Oh well. I'm over it. I'm just glad I still have my hair.
