Allergy Season

Allergy season is the worst!! For the past 2 weeks I've had to deal with it. Back in Texas I'm use to having them in March and April, but since it got warm here so late I just started getting them. Part of me was thinking that maybe I wouldn't get them here, but no Idaho was just teasing with me! My eyes have itched non stop. This past weekend they were watering so bad. The best part, I get to wear my glasses each and every day! Luckily we were able to get my new prescription and I found some I liked this past weekend, so hopefully in the next couple days I'll get them and I can see a little better. The ones I have now are about 4 years old.

Anyway, good ol' Todd doesn't have to deal with allergies. He just gets to put up with me! He keeps saying that hopefully our kids get his genes. With allergies, I hope they do. Allergies stink!

You Know You're From Texas When.....

You can properly pronounce Corsicana, Palestine, Decatur, Wichita Falls, San Antonio, Mexia, Waco, and Amarillo.

A tornado warning siren is your signal to go out in the yard and look for a funnel

You've ever had to switch from "heat" to "A/C" in the same day.

You know that the true value of a parking space is not determined by the distance to the door, but by the availability of shade.

You think everyone from a bigger city has an accent.

You measure distance in minutes.

Little Smokies are something you serve only for special occasions.

You listen to the weather forecast before picking out an outfit.

You know cowpies are not made of beef.

Someone you know has used a football schedule to plan their wedding date.

You have known someone who has had one belt buckle bigger than your fist.

You aren't surprised to find movie rental, ammunition, and bait all in the same store.

A Mercedes Benz is not a status symbol. A Chevy 3500 4x4 is.

You know everything goes better with Ranch.

You actually get these jokes and are "fixin' " to send them to your friends.

You go to the river/lake because you think it is like going to the ocean.

Finally, you are 100% Texan if you have ever heard this conversation:
"You wanna coke?"
"Yeah."
"What kind?"
"Pepsi.

My favorite part of this is the very end. I always say coke. Todd's a soda person, and so are most people up here. Soda or Pop. Our neighbor is from Houston, Texas, and we were talking last night and she said coke and it took me a sec to realize it, but someone else up here says coke!! I was actually quite excited. I guess you can say I get excited a little too easily.

Joseph Smith-The Rising

Todd's brother, Troy, had this on his facebook account and I love it. Mainly cause The Rising is one of my favorite songs off the CD Joseph: A Nashville Tribute to the Prophet. I usually crank it up and sing along! If any of you have the opportunity to listen to that CD you should. It's amazing. The songs are all a testimony of the life of Joseph Smith and all he did to restore the true church upon the earth.

Johnny Carinos

Johnny Carino's has kind of always been mine and Todd's restaurant we always go to. It started when he took me there for my birthday when we had just started dating. Any time we would go to a movie, in Denver, we would usually always go to Johnny Carino's first. We haven't been since we first moved up here. So Todd decided that we should head out there tonight.

We love their bread. It's Todd's favorite and probably one of the main reasons we go there. I've been trying to copy it, but haven't figured it out. So I was excited to get to have some tonight and hopefully figure out their recipe. When they brought out the bread we were a little disappointed. It looked a little different, but I didn't think anything of it until we started eating it. They changed their bread!! It use to taste real herby. But this one just tasted like a plain white bread with a little bit of herbs. You could barely taste anything.

Bowtie Festival

We usually get the same exact thing every time. We both say we're going to try something different, but then never do. Todd gets the Chicken Penne Gorgonzola and I get the Bowtie Festival. The Bowtie Festival is so good. It has lots of bacon and chicken. Yum. But something was different with it tonight. I don't know what it was. Todd said his tasted the same. Both our meals usually have tomatoes, but because of the recall on some brand of tomatoes they weren't carrying any. So I don't know if that was the reason, or not. It's almost like they went and changed who they buy their food from cause Todd noticed that the oil and garlic you dip the bread in was a little different. Maybe it's cause we haven't been there for so long. Who knows. It was still good though. It's a long drive, but worth it in the end!

Todd and I have had a cheap little entertainment center from Walmart and I hate it. I bought it when I lived in Denver with my roommate. Since we've moved in our new apartment along with looking for new couches I was looking for a new entertainment center. Last week I finally found one for $25. It looked pretty decent too. Todd didn't want it and wouldn't come and look at it. In our discussion he said if I could get it for $15 I could get it. He knows I can't barter like that. The next day I called the girl that owned it and luckily she didn't answer. I told her I could only take it for $15. She called back and said to come and get it!! I was soooo excited. Todd not too excited. It's older and has scratches, but for $15 it's pretty nice I think. I'm slowly getting our living room to the way I want it. Now it's onto the walls.

We could also go for a bigger TV!

New Set of Wheels

When the whole Tax Stimulus thing started Todd and I agreed that we could each get something we needed. He gets a new bike while I get new glasses. So this past week we were at Walmart and he found his bike. He says that it's his dream bike, he's always wanted. Whatever. We argued about it for about a half hour. I just didn't think it was the best bike to be riding to school. He has to get up a huge hill. We both rode it around the store, and I just didn't think he should get it. I felt a mountain bike or something was more logical. So I finally decided that he could just get it. Plus he kept telling me that I got couches and an entertainment center (although he uses the couches, the entertainment center will be explained later) so he should be able to get whatever bike he wanted. How could I keep arguing with that. I told him to get it. Well, he decided to wait. We went back down to Idaho Falls today and he went to look for his bike and they were sold out. No more. Let's just say he was a little bummed. We found were another Super Walmart was close by and decided we could go look. They had one left that was the display. So Todd got it... along with a bell.

He says it even "glistens in the sun"! He's already gone and rode up the hill. He said it was hard to get up but he just sailed on down. He even got to ring his bell at some guy driving by! At the store he even informed me that I can ride on the back. He'll put a cushion on and some pegs. Anyway, here are some videos of Todd's new wheels.

Yes, with all my relentlessness on getting it, I even got on. I do have to admit that it's not that bad. Here are just some extra pictures.

I downloaded a trial version of photoshop and have been having some fun with it. I'm no professional, but here are some pictures I used to try and learn the program.

These are a couple of my favorite wedding pictures. As you can tell our colors were black and green.

This is Tiffany's, Todd's sister, son. He took some really cute pictures on our wedding, but this is my favorite.

These two are of my niece Ella. She's very animated. I love these pictures.

Here are three of my sister's kids. Ella, Baden, and Brooklyn. I love this picture. Didn't quite turn out how I really wanted it to. I was trying to do the whole black and white thing with some color.

And here's my sister's other kid, Porter. I just think it's a cute picture of him. He's a little bigger then that now. The picture's a little old

I kind of know how to do a couple techniques, hopefully I can learn a few more before my trial is up. I really like it. I just wish I could take better pictures and afford the actual photoshop program.

Todd and I thought this video was funny. Enjoy..

The best part about it, for me at least, is that when we were dating Todd was going to call me muffin top as a nickiname. I had to inform him of what a muffin top was usually known for. That name didn't stay to long.

Fun Filled Saturday

When we lived in Denver, I worked at a bakery where I had to be there at 6 in the morning. So I would usually be to bed around 9 and up by 5. Even on Saturdays I couldn't really sleep in. I'd be up by 7 or so. I would usually do some sort of cleaning, mainly laundry, while Todd slept in. Well, I think our roles have reversed the last couple of weeks.

Since Todd has been waking up at 3:30am for work, he goes to bed much earlier and doesn't sleep in much on the weekends anymore. For those of you that know Todd, he's a night person. He likes staying up and sleeping in. So both last weekend and this weekend I would stay up a little longer than him, and which I don't think has ever happened, stayed in bed after he gets up for at least another hour or so. Both last Saturday and this Saturday I have woke up to him cleaning! Yesterday he put the clean dishes away, put dirty ones in, moped, did the laundry, and something he hates doing, he cleaned the toilet! So of course I had to get pictures!! Since I'm writing this, I don't want you to think that Todd never cleans and this is unusual, cause it's not. He's very helpful. It's just that it's done early in the morning on a Saturday. Even last Saturday he said he likes waking up early cause around noon he was already pretty much done with the laundry! So I guess college is starting to effect his sleeping habits, in good way! I am very grateful for all he does to keep a clean home. Along with the picture I had to take a video. So here's Todd in action. Not very entertaining, but I enjoy it! By the way, its crooked. I held the camera wrong.

After Todd's morning of cleaning we decided to have a date night. We went to a restaurant here in town called Craigos. We had never been, but have heard it's pretty good. It's pretty much a pizza place. They also have salads and pastas. So we went with the buffet. Their pizza was pretty good. I think Todd's favorite part was their honey butter. They bring it out for you to dip your pizza crust in. We sat in a booth that was kind of closed in, and a little after sitting down Todd found the light switch on the side. They have it so you can dim the lights and as our waitress mentioned "set the mood". So of course Todd had to "set the mood". It was fun. I would have to say that it's a place that we would go to again. We just wont go in after 7. We got there a little after 6 and got seated right away, but when we were leaving it was packed and people were waiting out side. So I guess it's a hotspot in Rexbug. Probably cause it's one of the only non-fast food restaurants here. After dinner we were going to watch The Bourne Identity, but ended up just watching TV. Around 9 we started hearing some loud noise and when we looked out our back window there were fireworks going off. Todd thinks it was because of Spirit Week up at the school. So that ended our evening pretty nice!
