2 Weeks at Grammy & Grandpa's

On April 5 we found out that my Dad was being taken in for a double organ transplant.  Last summer he was diagnosed with liver cancer and had to be put on the list for a new liver and kidney.  His kidney's were already diseased and he was told that they more than likely wouldn't take the new liver so he needed a new liver and kidney.  So at 2 in the morning on Friday the 5th my dad was called and there was a match for him.

The kids and I ended up spending 2 weeks in Dallas to be there and help out.  It was an eventful couple weeks.  Between the hospital, watching kids, spending time together, it was none stop action.  I'm so grateful for the opportunity to have been able to go and be there for our family.  The kids especially loved being around my mom's daycare kids and seeing their cousins.  They are much more fun to play with then mom!

I had ever intention of taking pictures with our camera, but only used the phone:) IT's a little more accessible.

On our way to Dallas. Everett thinks he's pretty cool with his sunglasses on.

Everett had fun taking over as teacher with the little kids. And of course Jacquelyn got to cleaning all the while taking on the phone. I don't know who her example is? :)

We were seriously always on the go it felt like.  For the most part the kids got to be at bedtime, but we did have a few late nights and it showed the next day! Everett would pass out at quiet time which is something he rarely does.  We have also found he sweats a lot. Poor kid. I don't know how he's going to make it this summer.  He always tells me he's not hot and wants the fan off and all his blankets on him.  Well, when I went to check on him he was drenched in sweat. Seriously his pillow was wet.  He is slowly starting to realize what it means to be hot!

One Saturday I watched all the cousins while everyone was at the hospital. We'd all take turns with the kids so we could spend time with my mom and dad.  We went to two parks, the car wash, got special drinks.  We had a blast!

We of course had to play with bandaids. What is a day without bandaids?

Lots of playing with cousin Jaxson and the daycare kiddos.

My dad is doing well and slowly recovering.  We are so grateful for what was able to be done to make him healthier.  It's amazing to me what can be done to the human body.  But I am ever so grateful for the blessings we've received and for the doctor's and nurses' that worked hard and getting bad dad to where he needs to be.
