Swimming Fun

We love that our apartment has a swimming pool.  It is honestly a nice little convenience.  The best time to get in is in the morning when it firsts opens.  No one is there.  So we generally get it all to ourselves.
At the beginning of summer Everett had no interest in swimming.  All he wanted to do was sit on the first step.  If I even walked toward him he was started getting out thinking I was going to take him in.  Jacquelyn on the other hand was much better.  She wouldn't swim too much, but she would at least get in a float a little.
While the kids were with my parents everything changed.  Everett just all of sudden started swimming!  He loves it now.  Each time we go out he's doing something new.  He now loves climbing out of the pool and jumping in. He's even started doing little moves in the air.  It's pretty cute.  Jacquelyn goes and jumps in after him, but it's more like she just falls in.  It's pretty humorous.

Swimming has sure helped us beat the hit so far.  We have loved it!

Big Belly

This big belly of mine is sure taking up a lot of room.  Anytime I sit on the chair, or couch, these two just want to snuggle.  It'll usually be just Jacquelyn, but then Everett will decide he needs to sit with us.  It's sometimes pretty comical to watch them try to climb up and make room, but we usually end up making enough for all of us.  It's not always comfortable, but who can resist snuggling with those two faces?

Movie Night with Dad

Last weekend we had the idea of taking Everett to a movie.  He's never been to a movie at the movie theater.  We thought about all of us going, but new Jacquelyn wouldn't sit still.  She doesn't sit still for 5 minutes during a movie at the house, so there was no way she actually would at a movie theater.  We decided Todd could take Everett and they could go on a little Father/Son date night.  When we were planning it ended up being too late to catch any of the showings they had so we pushed it off till today.

Todd originally wanted to take Everett to Monster's Inc 2 3D, but of course this was the first weekend it wasn't at the theater.  So he decided on Despicable Me 2.  We had quite the adventure.  Jacquelyn and I were dropping the boys off and then we were going to go do some shopping.  Just after dropping them off I noticed Todd didn't go inside so I turned around.  Turns out their computer was down and only accepted cash.  We had done and our bank was about 5 minutes away.  The movie started in 5 minutes.  We knew we wouldn't make it back so we decided they could go to a later showing.  There was one just a few hours later, but it was in 2D not 3D.  The next 3D showing was after 6.  Todd really wanted to take him to the 3D so we decided to wait even though it'd be kinda late for him.

Everett was excited all afternoon.  Finally the time came.  Seriously this kid was excited.  Well, the show ended up being a little too late.  Todd said Everett feel asleep at the very beginning.  After about 10 minutes he nudged him to wake him up.  He did pretty good, but he did not want to wear the glasses!  The whole point of 3D.  Oh well.  They had a good time.  They got their own popcorn and treats.  Despite the set back in the afternoon everything turned out.

Ice Cream Cones

When we go to Mt. Pleasant it's usually for some grocery shopping, or a doctor's appointment.  After we get our errands done I try to take the kids somewhere fun.  Especially if they've been real good for me.  Today I went all over the place and they were especially good.  So on our way home we stopped at Burger King, or as Everett calls it Micky Donald's.  He thinks any restaurant with a play ground is McDonald's.  Which is completely fine with me cause I can't stand their food and Burger King is way cheaper!

We got to enjoy a nice ice cream cone and play around for awhile.  They had such a good time.  Jacquelyn's not big on the play grounds yet.  She can't quite climb.  So she stayed with me and ate more of her cone.  And she loved it!

Rain Storm

It has been HOT here lately.  To the point where we are either in the house, or in the pool.  I grew up in Texas, but for some reason I just cannot handle the heat anymore. I don't know if it's the pregnancy, or being away for 7 years.

This afternoon it was fairly nice outside.  It was overcast so I knew I was more then likely going to rain.  So I decided to take the kids out before it did.  WE played in the sand box, colored with chalk, had our bikes out.  They were getting some energy out.  While we were playing it decided to rain a little.  The kids were having fun just running back and forth, but then it just started to downpour.  Jacquelyn ran back in, but of course Everett didn't.  He was having a blast!

Jacquelyn just sat and watched for a little bit, but eventually decided Everett was having too much fun and joined in.  They were collecting water from the gutter.  Jacquelyn thought our tomato plant needed just a little more water.

We were so excited for the cooler rain and being outside.  It beat the inside that's for sure.

Baking Assistant

I've been trying to find stuff for Everett and Jacquelyn to do with me.  IT's hard for me to get on the floor and play around.  So I decided if I love to bake I'd get them to love it too right?!  So we've been spending some time in the kitchen.  I haven't brought my kitchen aid out and Everett's gotten to actually mix what we're making.  He's done pretty good and loves.  Of course Jacquelyn has to help assist too!

One of their favorite parts is turning the oven light on and watching it bake.
And of course getting to eat what we made!

Dog House

Everett loves making forts.  We usually make it over our kitchen table.  It's not very big so it doesn't keep them entertained for very long.  I've tried other things, but I'm no expert at fort building so I usually get frustrated and tear the hole thing down cause it's usually falling down anyway.

Today we came up with an idea and it actually worked.  We built a little fort in the corner and it was perfect for Everett and Jacquelyn.  Everett kept calling it his dog house.  He was building one with all his pillows and would hide under them.  So needless to say this was a little bigger.  We used his pillows to make it a little more comfortable.
I know it's not much, but I was actually quite proud of myself.  It wasn't just blankets laying on top of a table, and it was actually staying up!

4th of July 2013

Our 4th of July was pretty laid back.  Todd didn't get home from work till late in the morning, so our morning we just hung out a little.  Our friends invited us over to have a little BBQ that afternoon.  They had a big blowup swim slide that the kids were able to play had.  They had so much fun.  We decided that we wanted to go to fireworks this year.  I had thought Everett had never been to a firework show, but then TOdd remembered we went to one at Rigby Lake last year. Completely forgot.  So we packed our chairs up and headed out to Pittsburgh.

For a small little town they had a pretty decent show.  They had some paragliders that Everett loved watching.  He thought it was pretty cool.  Then we waited about a half hour for the fireworks.  They kids got to run around and play.

This was the only decent picture I got of the two in their shirts.  They were not very cooperative!

Todd was a good sport and ran around with the kids to keep them busy.  They had so much fun!.

Once the show started Everett lasted about 2 minutes. After that it was just moving around and talking/asking questions the entire time!  Jacquelyn did pretty good though.  We had a good time even without all the festivities.  I'll admit I missed Rexburg's parade this year.  It was a little sad not being there.
