We live with Superman

This morning Everett comes up with his sweet excited face and informs me that he found his glasses.  I respond to him by saying "your superman glasses?!".  They are the glasses we fixed for him to wear for haloween last year.  He runs away so I go back to doing what I was doing when he comes back to show me his  "Porter Superman Pajamas".  He then proceeds to put them on.  Once on, he puts on his glasses and says "superman"! Yes buddy you are superman.  And I have to admit the cutest superman I've ever seen.

Of course Miss Jacquelyn couldn't be left out.

She's not too thrilled with me at the moment.  Her bottle has been taken away and she is now having to have a sippy cup.  Lets just say it's not her favorite thing in the whole word :)

Pushing/Walking

Jacquelyn is just like her brother when it comes to walking.  He would not let anyone help him walk and he showed very little signs of actually wanting to walk.  I thought she'd be different, but nope.  When I go to help her walk she starts jumping and kicking her legs.  She has let me do it a few times, but not for very long.  A couple weeks ago we should her how to use the little push toy and she loves it! She still does not like help, but she sure loves her toy.
Everett likes the toy too.  Luckily we have two push toys.  Most of the time they are both walking around pushing them.  It can get quite entertaining.

Idaho in May

Since living, in Idaho, I have found that you can not box up your jackets too early.  The weather will start teasing you making you believe that summer has arrived, when indeed it has not.  For the past couple of weeks the weather has been pretty nice to us.  As of this last week, it is back to chilly ol' spring weather.  Which I guess technically it's not summer yet so I can't say much.  I had this idea that every day, after work, I would take the kids on a nice long walk.  It has yet to happen because it's been too chilly, or way too windy.  Finally today I just decided we'd put on our hoodies and head out.

We of course had to have treats with us!  It wasn't a long walk like I had wanted.  We just walked up the street to talk to the horses, and then back down to show Everett that the cows were gone.  They talk the cows next to us out to pasture during the summer and grow corn.  I wish I had taken a picture, but it's seriously going to be a lot of corn.
When we got back to the house I had to fold up the stroller.  Do make things a little easier I just put Jacquelyn in the back of the van.  Everett thought she was having too much fun and had to join.  When he got up there they just started laughing.  Who knew sitting in the back of a van could be so entertaining.  I'll have to remember this for the future!

Chocolate Milk

Everett loves chocolate milk.  Seriously...he loves it.  He has woke up in the middle of the night, half asleep, crying for chocolate milk.  Sadly I got him addicted.  Todd's a chocolate milk fan too.  So one day I thought I would be a nice mom/wife and get some for the boys.  Since then it has been a staple in our home.  I was buying the chocolate syrup and then the powder.  Then I saw how to make your own, and thought "why not try?".  I don't know why I never thought of it before.  It's just the base of how I make my own hot chocolate.  IT turned out pretty tasty.  Everett never noticed a difference.  I feel a little better giving him a glass everyday know that it was something I made rather then not really knowing what was in it.

Last night we got to the end of my first jar and I told Everett we had no more chocolate for his chocolate milk.  He just looked at me with his blank stare.  So we went to town and made another batch so he could have his glass of chocolate milk the following morning.  This time he got to stir and help make it.  He was so excited.  The whole time he kept saying "chocolate milk, chocolate milk."  Seriously he loves it.

A Girl and Her Highchair

Jacquelyn has a funny relationship with her highchair.  She HAS to be buckled.  If not she will immediately end up like the following:

She'll turn around and talk. If she's eating she'll face backwards and then sit on the tray, or the side, and eat.  I'm honestly surprised she hasn't fallen out yet.  And I'm even more surprised I haven't learned to just buckle her in immediately.  I forget and then have to buckle her once I see her up like this.

She will sit, without being buckled, though.  She just has to have her bottle.
She's usually sitting kinda funny too.  I think it's pretty cute.
Although it doesn't last long.  Just a few minutes later and she was trying to get herself out and standing.  This morning she was just relaxing like there wasn't a worry in the world.

Like Father Like Son

I've wrote about Todd's fashion sense on her before.  More when I first started this blog.  I actually posted this picture:
Well, not much has changed since 2008:
sorry for the grainy picture
Except now he has a son to follow in his footsteps.  Everett even dressed on his own.  It must be in his genes :)

What a Stud

I went out and took pictures of the kids this morning and can I just say that I cannot believe how big this kid is.  Seriously, I can still see him as a little baby.  He is just a few short months shy of being three and I don't know if I'm ready for it.  He still never ceases to amaze me with what he learns everyday.  He can be a smarty pants at times.  He still knows how to test the limits.
But even when those limits are reached he is still the sweetest boy.  He loves to help out and do things.  He's great at cleaning up, helping with Jacquelyn, putting his clothes in the dirty clothes.  He is quick to remember things.  There are times I hope he forgets things, but sure enough he doesn't.  He's at a stage where he wants to try everything on his own.  Luckily he knows when he can't do some things and will still ask for help.
I can't get enough of his smile and his big brown eyes.  He knows how to use them.  I try not to be a softy with him, but I'll admit he gets me sometimes.  Everett has truly brought so much joy and happiness to our little family.  You can't help but smile when he laughs, or laugh when he makes his facial expressions.  We love this kid.

Jacquelyn Time

Jacquelyn doesn't get a whole lot of just alone time.  Most of the time she's awake so is Everett.  So when she does get that time she loves it.  There isn't anyone trying to take things from her, or wrestle with her.  Today was her lucky day cause just as Everett was going down for a nap she just woke up.  Not what I had planned, but we took advantage of it.  She was playing around for a little bit while I was trying to workout, but she grew tired of that and just wanted attention.  Today was such a nice day so I thought we would hang outside for a little.  You should have seen her face as I was opening the door. She got sooooo excited!  She never gets to play in the sand box by herself and she loved it.  She definitely took full advantage.  She was walking all around the patio, playing in the water, playing in the sand, playing with the grill. She was in heaven!
