The Joys of Being Sick

So I've come to the conclusion that being sick is not fun. I think most would agree, but now being sick AND pregnant really is not fun.

Since we've gotten back from Denver I came down with something. Woke up with my throat hurting Wednesday, but didn't really think anything of it. Come Thursday I have no energy. I couldn't sleep at all the night before. My throat hurts worse and ontop of that I'm starting to cough. Friday morning I wake up...I sound like a man. I honestly have no clue how I made it through work. All I wanted to do was sleep. On my way home I start noticing all the cotton blowing around. Oh great...the allergies are going to start. This was about the same time my allergies started last year here. Well, with all the luck I have my eye starts watering real bad before I even get home. That night it was puffy, itchy, and watering ALL night long. So on top of this fabulous cold I already have, my allergies have started. To go along with my new husky voice and nasty cough, I now have a nose that will not stop running, sneezing, and an eye that likes to randomly tighten, start twitching and water constantly. Oh Joy!

The best part is that whenever I wake up in the middle of the night I usually have to go use the restroom no matter what. On a normal night it's usually like once, sometimes I can sleep the whole night. But the past couple nights I think I wake up every couple hours cause I can't breathe, then I start coughing, and then I realize I can't fall back to sleep unless I use the restroom:) And since the baby is getting bigger and moving tons more he also lets me now that I need to get up. Luckily last night I had a movie we rented to keep me entertained from 1-3 in the morning.

I do have to say that I have an amazing husband that let me sleep and rest this morning, which honestly helped tons, while he was doing the laundry, the dishes, and organizing the spare room. When I normally get sick I keep myself going and don't stop, but this time around my body really needed the rest.

Needless to say, our weekend hasn't been the most enjoyable. Just relaxing and getting things done around the apartment. We were able to go and pick up a bookcase for the baby room. Todd's already got it up and stuff on it already. Eventually we'll get some baskets to store Everett's things. We have less than 3 months! Times flyin by;)

ick, talking about your allergies made my eyes water and throat itch> i know how you feel about not being able to sleep though> i get up every hour or so due to uncomfortableness and realize i have to go to the bathroom. The other night i didnt sleep from 1-5 am.. i wish i had a movie like you! Hope you get better though, doesnt sound like too much fun at all!

That's no fun to be sick, allergic, and pregnant all at once. This too shall pass, and suddenly the baby is all grown up! Try to enjoy each phase, if you can.
